Description

Introducing the Benson Germeownium Preamp – an exclusive twist on the classic Benson Germanium Preamp, available only at B's Music Shop! This special edition pedal features unique artwork inspired by 1950's atomic cat food, as if plucked straight from a retro-futuristic wasteland. Beyond its eye-catching design, this pedal retains the same top-notch circuitry and performance as the standard Benson Germanium Preamp.

Features:

  • Germanium Gain Stage: The Germeownium Preamp swaps the first FET transistor for a germanium gain stage, borrowed from Benson’s Germanium Boost pedal. This change delivers a distinct germanium tone, offering a richer, more nuanced overdrive, boost, or fuzz with a slightly lower gain.

  • Temperature-Resilient Performance: While germanium circuits can be temperamental, this pedal is designed to maintain stable performance in most conditions. However, note that at extreme temperatures (above 120°F), the germanium magic may start to fade.

  • Versatile Tone Shaping: With carefully tuned equalization and tone controls, this pedal allows for precise shaping of your sound. Whether you're after a warm boost, a crunchy overdrive, or something fuzzier, the Germeownium Preamp has you covered.

Controls:

  • Drive: Adjusts the gain/distortion level.
  • Treble: Acts as a low pass filter to control the high frequencies.
  • Bass: Functions as a high pass filter to manage the low end.
  • Volume: Sets the output level.

Power Requirements:

  • 9VDC Boss-style adapter or battery, requiring 50mA.
