This Fender Contemporary Stratocaster Deluxe HSS in Transparent Black is a Made in Japan model from circa 1986–1987, part of Fender’s first major venture into modernized Stratocaster designs during the CBS transition. It features the original Kahler Spyder locking tremolo system with bar, Kahler locking nut, and Gotoh tuners. The guitar shows moderate playwear consistent with its age, including light scratching on the pickguard and back, as well as some tarnishing on the bridge hardware. Visually striking with its Transparent Black finish and chrome hardware, this instrument delivers a versatile tone configuration with an HSS pickup layout and coil tap switch for extended sonic flexibility. It has been cleaned, set up, and restrung by our professional technicians, and comes with its original hard shell case.
